Eleanor Parker made her film debut in 1941 in Raoul Walsh's His last command (They Died with Their Boots On), and was nominated in the course of their careers three times for the Oscar as best actress in 1950 for the Women's Prison, 1951 for 21 police station, and 1955 for Interrupted Melody. For her role in women's prison, she was honored at the Venice Film Festival for best actress. She was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Eleanor Parker was married four times, 21 March 1943 to 5 December 1944 with Fred Losee (divorced), 5 January 1946 to 10 November 1953 with producer Bert E. Friedlob (divorced), 25 November 1954 to 9 March 1965 with Paul Clement () divorced, and since 17 April 1966 with Raymond Hirsch. She has four children, three from his second marriage and his son Paul Day (January 7, 1958) from his third wife.
