As a teenager, she is fascinated by Bette Davis that led her to take courses in theater.
At the end of a performance she met her future husband John Cassavetes (who died in 1989) she was the muse with whom she made seven films. They married four months after they met.
She is attracted to the theater and live TV, but her husband himself is fascinated by the film world, she said: "He knew so well convey his enthusiasm as we followed their eyes closed." (Ben Gazzara, Peter Falk and Seymour Cassel).
