Geraldine PageGeraldine Page was married from 1954 to 1957 with the violinist Alexander Schneider. In 1963 she married her fellow actor Rip Torn, with whom she has three children, daughter Angelica and the twins John and Tony. She died on 13 June 1987 to a heart attack while on Broadway was in a performance of the play Blithe Spirit (Happy Ghost) by Noel Coward on the stage.

Geraldine Page was next to her film appearances primarily as a stage actress and is a name in the United States many as the greatest American actress of all time. In 1947, she was in Out of the Night for the first time on camera. In 1962 she starred alongside Paul Newman in the film version of Tennessee Williams-play "Sweet Bird of Youth" ( "Sweet Bird of Youth"), for which they are one of its many Academy Award nominations. It was not until 1986, after seven unsuccessful nominations, she was awarded with the eighth nomination of the Oscar as best actress in the film A Trip to Bountiful ( "The Trip to Bountiful"). During the ceremony, she received a two minutes lasting standing ovation.
