Plot:
Millicent Jordan wants to throw the perfect dinner party but everyone she invites has big problems to deal with. Millicent's husband, Oliver, is facing bankruptcy and has a serious heart condition he is hiding from his family. Their daughter, Paula, is having an affair with Larry Renault, an alcoholic actor more than twice her age. Dan Packard is planning to take over Oliver's company while his wife, Kitty, is spending most of her time in bed eating chocolates and being visited by a handsome family doctor. Also on the guest list is Carlotta Vance, a former stage star who is having financial problems. Will they all make it to Millicent's party on time?
