Plot:

Mildred Pierce is a devoted mother who wants to give her children a good life. After her husband leaves Mildred finds work as a baker and opens a successful restaurant. Nothing Mildred does ever pleases Veda, her spoiled oldest daughter. Veda will do anything to get what she wants including stealing Mildred's boyfriend. When Veda is accused of murder Mildred must decide how far she will go to protect her daughter.
