Universal Studio’s production chief made a big mistake when he canceled 9-year-old Elizabeth Taylor’s contract because he thought she lacked talent. The raven-haired beauty went on to become one of the most Classic Actresses of all time and is now a staunch supporter of AIDS Research. The 2-time Academy Award winning actress has been married 8 times to 7 husbands. Both awards were won for films in which she was married to her co-stars: “Butterfield 8” with Eddie Fisher and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” with Richard Burton, whom she married twice. Liz became the highest paid female actress when she earned one million dollars for her role in “Cleopatra.” Taylor suffers from congestive heart failure and numerous other health issues. She was made a Dame of the British Empire in 2000 and appeared on Larry King Live in 2006 to dispute rumors that she was dying.
