Clark Gable was born William Clark Gable on February 1, 1901, in Cadiz, Ohio. He was known as "The King Of Hollywood". Clark appeared in more than seventy films including Gone With The Wind, Red Dust, and A Free Soul. He won an Academy Award in 1935 for his performance in It Happened One Night. In 1939 Clark married Carole Lombard. She died three years later in a plane crash. Clark was romantically involved with Joan Crawford for many years. He married Kay Spreckles in 1955. Clark died on November 16, 1960 from a heart attack. His son, John Clark Gable, was born four months later.
