Susan Sarandon (born New York, October 4 of 1946) was the
winner of the Academy Award. From ideology pacifist and radically opposed to
the policy of former President George Bush for his progressive ideology, has
been shrouded in controversy in this country and is an unusual star in the
"stardom" of Hollywood.
Child, Susan was raised in a very conservative family. She was educated in a Catholic institution and was noted for his bold and insolent attitude. She graduated at the Catholic University of America Drama School before beginning his career between modeling and small roles in theater and television.
She made her film debut in 1970 in Joe, is also America (Joe) of John G. Avildsen. But it is in The Great Waldo Pepper, where she played opposite to Robert Redford, and the cult film The Rocky Horror Picture Show, in which she portrays Janet Weiss, a naive young woman, she became known.
She received her first appointment with the Oscar for best actress in 1982 for Atlantic City. She rubs Shirley MacLaine in The Love for four hands in 1980, Gena Rowlands in Tempest or Catherine Deneuve in scenes lesbians in The Hunger (1983) by Tony Scott before cartoning on the big screen in the comedy fantasy The Witches of Eastwick in 1988 alongside Jack Nicholson, Cher and Michelle Pfeiffer, and the same year three Duo with Kevin Costner.

In 1996, the actress was awarded the Oscar for best actress for her moving role of a nun leading a condemned man to redemption in the last march (1995), directed by her companion, Tim Robbins.

Therefore it is the mother of Reese Witherspoon in The Magic Hour (1997), the young Jena Malone in Stepmom (1998) deal with Julia Roberts, of Natalie Portman in My mother, me and my mother (in 1999 ) 's Erika Christensen in The Banger Sisters (2001) or to Kieran Culkin and Ryan Phillippe in Igby (2002) by Burr Steers.
